A place for every person and every season
We inventory what arrives at the door: long coats, backpacks, helmets, boots, strollers, reusable bags, pet gear, and keys. The built-in is divided around those items, with hooks children can reach, taller hanging space for adults, ventilated shoe storage, and upper cabinets for off-season gear. Each family member can have a dedicated locker or cubby so the system stays understandable on busy mornings.
Materials chosen for wet boots
A Toronto mudroom has to survive snow, road salt, grit, and repeated cleaning. We use moisture-resistant cabinet materials, durable finishes, washable wall protection, and tile or other flooring suited to wet entry conditions. Benches are built for daily use, while removable boot trays and ventilation help stored footwear dry instead of leaving moisture inside a closed cabinet.
Storage fitted into narrow entries
Not every home has a separate mudroom. We regularly build useful drop zones into front halls, side entrances, laundry rooms, and the space beside a back door. Shallow cabinets, open hooks, recessed niches, and bench drawers can add order without blocking the door swing or narrowing the path through the house. Mirrors and lighter finishes can help a tight entry feel larger.
More than coats and shoes
A charging drawer, mail slot, key shelf, broom cabinet, dog-washing area, or concealed litter station can make the entry work harder. We coordinate outlets, lighting, flooring transitions, baseboards, and adjacent doors so the built-in looks resolved from every angle. If walls or plumbing are changing, we confirm permit requirements and include the necessary trades in one scope.
